The aquaculture sector also offers major opportunities, being a unique
destination in Spain for the production of species of high commercial
value such as sea bream, bass, tuna and sole. Large international

Farm and Fitalent-Everis. CTQUA is the Aquaculture Technology
Centre.
Andalusia has the largest European non-ferrous minerals reservoir,
highlighting the spheres of aggregates, ornamental rock, industrial mining,
energy mining and metal mining with a total production of 41 million tons in
the last year.
There are currently five active metal ore mines that produce 15 million tons
of treated ore: Riotinto, Cobre Las Cruces, Dyed Water Mine, Sotiel Mine,
Magdalena Mine, and two in the process of opening: Minas de Alquife and
Los Frailes.
The Andalusian University system provides Mining Engineering, Geology and
Environmental Sciences degrees, among others. The Regional Government is
firmly committed to the promotion of mining as a strategic sector for the
development and economic growth of the region.
Power energy from the sun, wind, water and geothermal energy are
abundant natural resources in Andalusia that allow the generation of clean
and safe energy as an alternative to fossil fuels. Thanks to these assets, the
region becomes pioneer in the use of wind and solar thermal energy, being,
currently, the first region that generates biomass electricity. In fact,
approximately 40.4% of the electricity consumed in Andalusia comes from
renewable sources. There are more than 8,300 renewable and grid
connected power generation plants.

The Logistics Network of Andalusia covers an area of 1,800 hectares and
comprises 11 logistics centres (7 port and 4 indoor), in addition to a high
capacity road structure connected to railway corridors that guarantees
excellent connections with the main consumption centres in Spain and

The Port of Algeciras, one of the main European container ports, moved
traffic close to 3M containers in 2018, becoming one of the most relevant
